Our History

Electronica was founded within ENISo’s Electronics Department to bring students together around a shared passion for technology and hands-on engineering. What started as a small group of curious students has grown into a full club — running workshops, building real projects, and competing at events like the Embedded Arena and NXP Cup.

The Spark

It began with two electronics engineering students who looked at their own education and saw a gap nobody was talking about: years of lessons that explained how things worked, but never how to build something that mattered. Classrooms prepared them for exams — not for industry, not for the real world waiting on the other side of their diploma.
"If the bridge doesn't exist, you build it yourself."
So they did. With a handful of students who felt that same hunger, they founded Electronica — not as a club, but as the bridge they never had, built for the juniors and seniors who'd come after them. That same year, they took Electronica to its first NXP Cup, and laid down the exact structure of training and mentorship the club still runs on today. They also opened the first doors with industrial partners — relationships built on nothing but belief, before Electronica had anything to show for itself yet.

The Horizon

The second mandate inherited more than a club — they inherited a responsibility to carry it further. And they noticed something the founders couldn't have planned for: an AI boom was reshaping the world, and it was reaching straight into the heart of their own specialty, embedded systems.
"You don't resist the wave. You learn to ride it."
So they rebuilt. Electronica split into three axes — Hardware, Software, and Machine Learning — each one guided by its own leader and its own visionary, each one free to grow in its own direction. They created the first Embedded Arena, gave events the weight they'd always deserved, and kept building the circle of industrial partners who believed in what this club was becoming.

The Surge

This is where we stand now. We took everything our predecessors built and restructured again — this time around Training, Projects, and Events, each one carried by a dedicated leader from our team, each one sharpened into its own focus.
"We're not here to maintain what came before us. We're here to build on it."
We're pushing AI — and now Edge AI — deeper into our training programs, because the field our founders fell in love with hasn't stopped moving, and neither have we. We're building new events shaped by the vision of those who came before, while giving the ones they started a second life. We're all-in on sponsorship and industrial relations — and in our very first month alone, we closed partnerships with two of the biggest industrial players in this field in Tunisia. And we're not stopping there: new learning strategies, a wider scope, and bigger projects, financed hand-in-hand with the partners who believe in what we're building.
